Assembly Technician

We're looking for an Assembly Technician to help build our robots in-house in our San Francisco lab. This is a hands-on role where you'll be assembling mechanical and electromechanical components for our custom-designed robot systems. You'll work closely with our engineering team as we refine our manufacturing process and scale production.

This starts as a part-time role. We're open to candidates who are interested in working anywhere from 10 to 30 hours per week, and we're very flexible about hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components following detailed technical instructions
  • Perform soldering and basic wiring for robot components
  • Use hand tools and light power tools for precision assembly work
  • Inspect parts and assemblies for quality, flagging any defects or issues
  • Maintain organized workspaces and help track inventory
  • Document assembly processes and provide feedback to improve manufacturability

You might be a good fit if you have:

  • Experience with hands-on assembly work — electronics, mechanical systems, or similar
  • Comfort working with small-scale precision components
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and assembly instructions
  • Basic soldering skills (or willingness to learn quickly)
  • Reliable, organized, and proactive problem-solver

We can train the right person on our specific assembly processes. If you're meticulous, hands-on, and excited about building cutting-edge robotics hardware, we'd love to hear from you, even if you've never done assembly work of any kind before.

To apply, send an email to hiring@pantograph.com with "Assembly Technician" in the subject line. Include a brief description of your relevant experience and what excites you about this work.
